Mason Training at Dhangadhi and Orientation at Birendranagar

As part of NSET’s “Building Code Implementation Program in Municipalities of Nepal (BCIPN)”, 32 masons working inside Dhangadhi are now trained in Earthquake Resistant Building Construction. The training was jointly organized by Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, Department of Urban Development & Building Construction Kailali and National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) from 17 to 21 March 2016. The objective of the training is to assist municipalities in effective building code implementation by enhancing the capacity of masons working inside the municipality. NSET has previously hosted seven mason trainings in Dhangadhi, the city's 259 masons trained to date.

Similarly, an orientation program on Earthquake Risk Management and Building Codes was conducted on 21 March, 2016 at Birendranagar  by NSET’s BCIPN program to raise awareness on these issues. Participants in this program were community people from different wards. There were around 54 participants including local political leaders, tole/lane representatives and social mobilizers.
