Vacancy Announcement for the position - Civil Engineer

National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) is implementing “Resilient Settlement – Capacity Building on Building Code Implementation” program as a part of USAID’s Improved Disaster Risk Management Project- Tayar Nepal Program.

NSET seeks applications for the following positions from eligible candidates for the mentioned program:

1. Position: Civil Engineer
No. of Positions: Two
Appointment Type: Full Time for 6 months with possibility of extension
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Experience: Around 1-year experience in similar field or Fresh Engineers
Location: Jajarkot District
Language: Nepali and English in speaking, reading and writing are required
Preferable: Local candidates of diverse background and women are encouraged to apply.

Skills and abilities required:

• AutoCAD
• Estimation and Costing
• Familiar with various computer software packages, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
• Report Writing
• Interested to work at community level
• Holding Motor Bike driving license
• Ability to work under pressure

Main Responsibilities:

• Conducting/assisting different training programs and orientations including On-the-Job trainings, Training of Trainers (ToT) and Mason Training on earthquake resistant construction of rural buildings of Jajarkot District
• Training delivery/ management and reporting
• Communication and coordination with program municipalities and respective stakeholders for program activities
• Coordinate activities with senior staff
• Produce written reports on activities and outcomes
• Perform other duties as assigned
