Earthquake Orientation to Argakhanchi Cement Limited Employees
NSET, as part of private sector collaboration, organized an earthquake orientation session for the factory employees of Argakhanchi Cement Limited at Bethari, Siddharthanagar on 9th December 2014.
With an investment of around 3 billion rupees, Siddhartha Group, Murarka Group and Kedia Group of Nepal stake in Argakhanchi Cement Industry. The production plant is located at Manahiya VDC of Rupandehi. NSET is collaborating with Argakhanchi Cement to promote earthquake risk management of the private sector. Both organizations have agreed to publish earthquake awareness and earthquake resistant construction related brochures. Argakhanchi Cement has agreed to share 100 percent costs to produce the brochures.
Mr. Surya Bhakta Sangachhe, NSET/3PERM Program Manager and Mr. Kalyan Bista, PPP Specialist made the presentation on earthquake risk of Nepal and need of preparedness of private sector stakeholders. NSET expressed that it would be happy to provide necessary technical assistance for building assessment conduction, development of BCP and DRR plans for Argakhanchi Cement Industry.
An earthquake orientation session was provided by National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) under promoting "Public Private Partnership for Earthquake Risk Management (3PERM) Program supported by USAID/OFDA.
