Call for EOI: To produce Video Tutorial for House Owners on Safer Construction Practices

National Society for Earthquake Technology (NSET), with financial support from USAID/OFDA, is implementing Technical Support for Building Code Implementation Program in Nepal (TSBCIN) in 30 Municipalities around the country. The major components of this program are Raising Awareness of various stakeholders on building construction, Capacity Enhancement of construction workers and administrators, Institutionalization of Building Code implementation at the municipalities and increase Networking, Coordination and Cooperation with regional and local organizations for effective Building Code Implementation. Through TSBCIN, NSET has been conducting various training and orientation courses like Mason Training, House Owner Orientation and Engineer's Training among others. For this, NSET has been following standardized courses and manuals developed by Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC).

House Owner Orientation is a one-day training course pioneered by NSET to impart the basic information about Earthquake Risk, its mitigation measures, tips for earthquake resistant construction, construction management and building permit system prevalent at the municipality to the house owners who wants to build their new houses. The training course is expected to help them in building their houses safer to earthquake. The planned video is aimed at providing essential tips for new house owners on safer construction practice. The cost celling for the video making has been fixed at Rs. 3,00,000 to 4,00,000.

In this regard, NSET invites Expression of Interest (EOI) from Media & Advertising Agencies and Creative Teams to collaborate with NSET through TSBCIN for the following activities:

1.Produce a Video for orientation to House Owners:

NSET/TSBCIN is planning to produce thematic videos of approximately 60 to 90-minute duration, capturing the highlights of major information in regard to Earthquake Resistant Construction practices. This video is intended for orienting House Owners on the basis of earthquake safety and building construction process.

2. Produce a Short Thematic Video:

NSET/TSBCIN is planning to produce a summarized video incorporating the short clips/highlights of orientation to House Owners for public advocacy (duration 5 minutes). It will be a summary version of 60 to 90-minute video mentioned above.

3. Produce Public Service Announcements (PSAs):

NSET/TSBCIN is planning to produce a total of 4 Public Service Announcements (PSAs) with 45 Sec. to1-minute duration. These PSAs are intended for awareness raising/advocacy to house owners to construction workers.

Media & Advertising Agencies and Creative Teams that are interested to work on the above activities should submit sealed EOI documents to NSET Reception. The Preliminary Concept of Video and Guidelines for EOI are attached herewith. The EOI should be accompanied by a Cost Proposal (CP) in separate envelope and organizational documents as suggested in the Guidelines. The documents shall be received no later than 1700hrs Nepal time, on May 30, 2019.
