Disaster Resilient Communities in Nepal by 2050

Training of Trainers (TOT) on earthquake risk management in the Eastern Region of Nepal (Dhankuta)


26 persons got trained from the 5 day Training of Trainers Program (TOT) organized in Dhankuta during 27 June-1 July 2012. The participants of the training program were the Resource persons from the Recourse Centers of District Education Office, School Inspector and Teachers of 8 districts of Eastern Region.

The TOT was conducted in close cooperation and coordination with GON, Department of Education, RED-ER, NCED, UNICEF, and District Education Office of 8 district of eastern region. The training was conducted in close cooperation and coordination with Government of Nepal (GoN), Department of Education, Regional Educational Directorate- Central Region (RED-CR), National Center for Education Development (NCED), UNICEF and District Education Office of 8 district of Eastern Region.

The training was focused on the earthquake risk of Nepal and the associated vulnerabilities of schools in Nepal. The need of education in emergencies, preparedness planning in schools, teaching/ training, teaching aids, exercise planning, training management and evacuation drill during emergency were also covered in the training.
