Basic Technical Training for Engineers and Sub-Engineers from Education Offices being held
A technical training for Engineers and Sub-Engineers working in Education Offices has begun on January 2, 2017 in Kathmandu. The main objective of the training is to build capacity of engineers and sub-engineers on earthquake resistant construction of education facilities. It further aims to impart knowledge and skills on earthquake resistant construction technology and detail damage assessment to engineers and sub-engineers involved in the reconstruction of schools.
Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education, Central Level Project Implementation Unit have organized a 5-Day Basic Technical Training on Earthquake Resistant Building Construction with the support from Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and Plan Nepal. National Society for Earthquake Technology (NSET) is providing technical support for the program. The training participants are total 36 (including only one female) engineers and sub-engineers currently working under District Education Offices/District Level Project Implementation Unit (DLPIU) of 18 earthquake affected districts.
The training being held under the program “Building back Safer Schools for All” that incorporates major activity as construction of school buildings in six districts of Nepal; Makwanpur, Dolakha, Sindhuli, Kathmandu, Sindhupalchowk and Lalitpur.
