2 TOT accomplished consecutively at Kathmandu
Two Training of Trainers (TOT) program organized for the technical professionals of Central Level Project Implementation Unit (CLPIU) and District Level Project Implementation Unit (DLPIU) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have been accomplished consecutively. The training was organized with the objectives of enhancing the technical knowledge and capacities regarding various aspects of earthquake resistant building construction and methodologies to conduct the mason training at the working areas.
Altogether 68 technical professionals including 37 female technical professionals from NRA, CLPIU, DLPIU (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur) and other partner organizations have boosted up their technical knowledge on earthquake safe reconstruction.
At the closing ceremony of 7th TOT organized under BaliyoGhar Program, Deputy Project Director of CLPIU, MOUD; Parikchhit Kadariya and Deputy Executive Director of NSET and Director for BaliyoGhar Program, Dr. Ramesh Guragain were present whereas Sri Ram Singh Basnet, Board Member of NSET and Bhubaneshwori Parajuli, GESI specialist for NSET were present to formally close the 8th TOT. Being organized at Teku Kathmandu, first of them concluded at 28th Dec and second at 29th Dec 2016. Mr. Kadariya at his remarks at closing ceremony said, "Gorkha Earthquake has created a historical opportunity to build the nation better and safer, however the results of earthquake were painful, though the time has come to make our societies safer and better. History sometimes, generates great opportunity to someone to show up his/her capacities and skills, and that opportunity has come to us (Technical Professionals). So, let's grasp the opportunity and join our hands to build resilient nation."
Likewise, Mr. Guragain encouraged the trained technical professionals to conduct better mason trainings at their working areas and help in building back better.
The trainings were jointly organized by National Reconstruction Authority (NRA), Central Level Program Implementation Unit (CLPIU) and National Society for Earthquake Technology - Nepal (NSET) supported technically under BaliyoGhar Program with funding support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
