International Organization for Migration (IOM), in funding support of USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), is implementing "Implementation of Disaster Risk Management Localization Training at 702 Local Levels of Nepal" program under phase II "Promoting Action for Disaster Risk Governance and Working to Achieve Preparedness for Risk Reduction through Technical Assistance in Nepal (PARIWARTAN)" project. The project aims to assist the Government of Nepal to enhance the disaster risk management governance at federal, provincial and local levels. The project will be executed in Seven Provinces of Nepal by a consortium of three organizations, namely, The Lutheran World Federation (LWF), Practical Action Consulting Pvt. Ltd. (PAC) and National Society for Earthquake Technology -Nepal (NSET) as consortium Lead. The project is expected to complete all trainings to all 702 local governments by Oct 2022. The Project seeks applications for the following positions from eligible candidates:

1. Province coordinator/DRRM Trainer

No. of Positions: 7 (Seven)
 
Work Station: Province 1, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province
 
Appointment Type: Full Time for 5 to 6 months
 
Required Qualification: Master's degree in Environmental science/ Forestry/ Humanities/Social Science/Engineering/Education/Social Work/Management with minimum 3-years' of experience in delivering trainings, working in the field of Disaster Risk Management and working with local and province government

OR

Minimum of Bachelors' Degree in Environmental science/Forestry/ Humanities/Social Science/Engineering/Education/Social Work/Management with minimum 5-years' experience in delivering trainings and working in the field of Disaster Risk Management and working with local and province government
 
Language: Very good written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali
 
Preferable: Preference will be given to the local candidates. Candidates from disadvantaged groups and women are encouraged to apply.
 

Skills and abilities required:
  1. Familiar with computer software: Microsoft Office Package
  2. Excellent communication, coordination, documentation and training, delivery skill
  3. • Very Good leadership and strong facilitation skills.
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Project management at province level as per the guidance from central team
  2. Maintain regular communication and reporting to the central team.
  3. Coordinate, plan and conduct trainings at province and local levels.
  4. Coordinate with DRRM trainers in planning and implementing activities.
  5. Coordinate with trainers provided by partners and conduct trainings.
  6. Prepare and compile activity reports and database of participants.
  7. Facilitate and attend meetings with province, district and local level as required.
  8. Prepare periodic reports, case stories and other reports as required.
  9. Identify appropriate location for project office.
  10. Represent consortium in province and attain meeting with stakeholders
  11. Facilitate monitoring and evaluation of training in coordination with program team
  12. Perform other duties as assigned



2. DRRM Trainer      goto top

No. of Positions: 28 (Twenty Eight)
 
Work Station: Province 1, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province
 
Appointment Type: Full Time for 5 months
Required Qualification: Bachelors' Degree in Humanities/Social Science/Engineering/Education/Social Work/Management
 
Experience: Minimum 3-years' experience in delivering trainings and working in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction and local and province government.
 
Language: Very good in written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali.
 
Preferable: Preference will be given to the local candidates. Candidate from disadvantage group and women are encouraged to apply.

3. Admin logistic support officer/DRRM Training Assistant      goto top

No. of Positions: 7 (Seven)
Work Station: Province 1, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province
Appointment Type: Full Time for 5 to 6 months
Required Qualification: Bachelor's in Management/Humanities/Social Science/Education/Social Work
Experience: Minimum 2 -years' experience in administrative, procurement and financial management along with delivering DRM trainings
Language: Very good in written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali.
Preferable: Preference will be given to the local candidates. Candidate from disadvantage group and women are encouraged to apply.

Skills and abilities required:
  1. Familiar with computer software: Microsoft Office Package
  2. Excellent documentation and information management skill.
  3. Competent in English and Nepali typing.
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Assist Province coordinator for the administrative and logistic support for the training at province and local level. He/She is also responsible for the procurement, financial reporting and clearance.
  2. Explore and assist identifying appropriate location for project office and set up office in coordination with province coordinator.
  3. Assist Province Coordinator in coordination, planning and conduction trainings at province and local levels.
  4. Assist Province Coordinator in Coordinating with local authorities to conduct trainings.
  5. Prepare and compile activity reports and database of participants in coordination with Province coordination.
  6. Facilitate and attend meetings with province, district, and local level.
  7. Prepare periodic activity reports, case stories and other reports as required.
  8. Support in conducting DRRM training
  9. Support and facilitate monitoring and evaluation of trainings in coordination with program team
  10. Perform other duties as assigned
