Vacancy Announcement for Information Documentation Officer

National Society for Earthquake Technology- Nepal (NSET), with funding support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is implementing "Baliyo Ghar" program to contribute for housing reconstruction in Nepal. The objective of the program is to support disaster-resilient reconstruction of houses through standardized training, awareness, demonstration and support on code compliance.

NSET seeks application for the following position from eligible candidates for the mentioned program:

1. Information Documentation Officer

No. of Positions: 1 (ONE)
Work Station: Dolakha District with frequent travel to program areas
Appointment Type: Full time staff for 6 months with possibility of extension
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistic/ Mass communication or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 1 year in similar work
Language: Nepali and English in speaking, reading and writing are required
Preferable: Preference will be given to the local candidates. Candidate from disadvantage group and women are encouraged to apply.

Skills and abilities required:

 » Familiar with computer software: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Data storage and handling of program data in Excel, SPSS is desirable.
 » Excellent documentation and information management skill.
 » Familiar with the qualitative field survey tools such as Focus Group Discussion, SSI etc.
 » Competent in English and Nepali typing.

Main Responsibilities:

 » Conduct field survey with the support from Monitoring and Evaluation team as planned by the program.
 » Reconcile documentation with collections, creating objects and collection history files.
 » Conduct data quality assessment as per the program guideline.
 » Create, deposit and record the location of backup copies of all documentation.
 » Consider the condition of objects, and advise the seniors of any condition concerns, transferring conservation requirements for the documentation.
 » Coordinate with the program stakeholders for information management of housing reconstruction.
 » Monitoring and evaluation of radio programs as planned by the program.
 » Produce written reports on documentation
 » Prepare monthly and quarterly program performance report.
 » Perform other duties as assigned
