National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) is implementing "Technical Support for Building Code Implementation in Nepal (TSBCIN)" program with the funding support from USAID/OFDA. The main objective is to support Municipalities in building code implementation through awareness, training, institutionalization, and networking activities. NSET seeks applications for the following positions from eligible candidates:

Position: Software Engineer
No. of Positions: One
Appointment Type: Full Time for one year with possibility of extension
Required Qualification: Bachelors’ degree in Computer Engineering / Software Engineering
Experience: One year or more in software design and development
Location: Kathmandu Valley with travel to program municipalities as when required
Skill and Abilities:
Understanding and skills of the principle of software development. Good command over at least one backend programming language (C/C++, Python, PHP, C#, Java); Should know at least one backend framework (Python/Django, PHP/Laravel, CodeIgniter, ASP .Net MVC, Ruby/Rails); Strong knowledge of frontend technology [CSS (Flex, Grid, Box layouts), JavaScript (React/Vue/jQuery) and excellent in documentation skill.

Position: Architect
No. of Positions: One
Appointment Type: Six months with possibility of extension
Required Qualification: Bachelors’ degree in Architecture
Experience: One year in urban planning activities
Location: Tanahun District, Gandaki Pradesh
Skill and Abilities:
Understanding and skills of the urban planning concepts; ability to use any three-dimensional modeling software and excellent in documentation skill.

Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
No. of Positions: One
Appointment Type: Full Time for one year with possibility of extension
Required Qualification: MSc Statistics/ Masters in Social Science/Development Studies or Any other relevant field
Experience: Minimum two years of working experience in Disaster Risk Management or Other Development Project in designing, implementing and Overseeing M&E related tasks, should be Proficient in Statistical Analysis
Location: Kathmandu Valley with travel to program municipalities as when required

Skill and Abilities:

Good knowledge of program implementation, monitoring and evaluation techniques and practices with Proficiency in SPSS and other Statistical Tools, Data analysis & data visualization and report writing

Main Duties and Responsibilities of M&E

He/She should be able to design and implement the overall system of Monitoring and Evaluation from developing M&E frameworks to data collection plan including developing questionnaire, conducting survey, recording, validating, analyzing and reporting results to fulfill all the project and organizational M&E requirements.

Specific tasks include;

» Assist in designing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems for NSET programs
» Assist in developing the M&E frameworks and M&E plan for different projects
» Design data collection, recording, analyzing, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems and tools to fulfill all project and organizational M&E requirements
» Develop survey formats, checklists, questionnaires for measuring outputs, outcomes, achievements and impacts of projects/programs and activities.
» Conduct and assist in conducting field surveys interviews and focus groups discussions for M&E of programs
» Ensure accuracy of data collection and quality of data processing
» Develop testing procedures of assessing quality
» Analyze collected data and other relevant information as part of M&E system.
» Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis and generate reports (with graphs, charts, maps, etc).
» Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports.
» Assist program personnel with M& E tools in designing/ developing required mid-course corrections for projects and programs.
» Collect and analyze the lessons of building code implementation in successful cities around the world and evaluate the applicability to municipalities in Nepal » Perform other duties as required.
