Nepal Construction Expo 2014 Successfully Wrap-up
The Nepal Construction Expo 2014 was successfully completed on Tuesday 9 December 2014 at Bhirkutimandap, Kathmandu.
National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) participated in the event, which was organized jointly by The Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN) and NEPA Exhibitions and Equipment.
The event featured 63 stalls of domestic and overseas companies relating to pipes and fittings, cement, paint, solar thermal energy, water proofing, safety rescue and fire fighting, construction and mining equipment, latest technology materials and services and many others. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Bimalendra Nidhi inaugurated the event on 5 December 2014. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nidhi said the time had come for boosting investment in Nepal which would ensure an increased market for construction materials. According to the event organizers, 40,000 visitors including 25,000 business visitors were in attendance.
NSET participated in this years’ event by contributing publications on earthquake resistant construction technology, earthquake preparedness, as well as providing necessary technical information to visitors.
With the aim of promoting the construction industry and informing the general public about the importance of development projects, the Nepal Construction Expo 2014 ran from 5-9 December and proved to be a successful event.
