II Key features

CELC is envisioned to serve as a Centre of Excellence in general for Disaster Risk Management and in particular for Earthquake Risk Management in Nepal. It will facilitate practical researches in specific problem areas and provide physical facilities for earthquake disaster awareness and education for specific target groups, such as children, artisans. It will have a museum for transferring the lessons learned from past earthquakes to the current and future generations.

The building structure is envisioned to serve as a model of earthquake resistant construction, use of alternative energy (Solar/wind energy for water heating and wind energy, backup power for some equipment), and environment friendly and energy efficient building.
